scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='FriendFeed'/>
FriendFeed

So I have a few friends that haven't figured out how to use FriendFeed to its fullest potential. Some of them don't know how to use it. {It's okay, it can be difficult}

So here's some pointers:

1: SIGN UP! It's free and believe me, it'll do alot of things you wouldn't find somewhere else {that is unless someone else knows somewhere else better??}

2: After you sign up, at the top of the page you will find a link "Import sites". This is where you want to add any accounts you have that they are partnered with {Facebook, Twitter, Plurk, Last.fm, Photobucket, Flickr..59 services in all}

3: At the top of page in their 'toolbar' you will see Account. You will want to go there to adjust your account...BUT scroll down to 'Feed Publishing'. Under Feed Publishing, you make it possible for FriendFeed to automatically post items from any of your accounts to Twitter. Automatically. So you can post a blog and that link will post to Twitter.

4: Go to Tools, next to Account in the 'toolbar'. There you can find ways to keep connected to Friendfeed without having to go to the site everyday. Also there's widgets you post on your sites.

FriendFeed functions as its own social networking site, but it connects all of them together. You can add your friends, message them, post your own things..Great little site there.

Feb. 2 Artist of the Week

I first heard of The Dear & Departed on my good pal, Ron Purtee Show. Their music sounded cool, refreshing than just everyday rock shit. And to my liking, they all have accents.

None of them were born in the US, but they came to Orange County to form the band in 2004. They came from New Zealand, Australia, England, and Wales. But they've gone through some line-up changes, only to make it better. Two new tracks were just added to their Myspace: "Day to day" and "If you Say So".

I am in love with their song "Tonight's the Night". Still love this Canadian, though.

"I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder
Every time I am forced to hear this song, I want to tear out my ears. And I mean forced because I never ever voluntarily listen to this.

"Hello" by Lionel Richie
I can take this song. I hear it at work all the time {Grocery stores have a tendency to play cheesy/awful music}. But whenever I hear it, I think my little brother acting like the blind chick from the music video.

"More Than Words" by Extreme
Another corny song played at work. I'd like to run from it.

"If I were a Carpenter" by Bobby Darin
I don't think I've even heard this song before. I probably have and can't think of it. Hopefully.

"You're the Inspiration" by Chicago
Damn you, Peter Cetera. I like this song and I do.not know why. It pierces your eardrums and you just wanna kill.

"Lady" by Kenny Rogers
Never heard the song. I do try to stay away from Brewster Baker if I can help it.

"Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler
Ah yes, the Queen of Cheesy songs.

"The One That You Love" by Air Supply
Aw, nobody does corny as great as Air Supply. I just can't say anything bad about Air Supply. I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without youu

"Lady in Red" by Chris de Burgh
I can't hear this song and not think of Dodgeball. Or late night listening to Delilah. Insert: daydream dancing.

We Got Fun n Games

It's Super Bowl Sunday!! But I love it. I just got done watching the 3rd episode, and I'm hooked. I love Tara, T, Alice, Buck, Max, Kate, and Marshall. It's unique, it's interesting, and it's well-scripted. I like how the alters go with the rest of the relationships Tara has. Like Buck is for Max, T is for Kate, and Alice is for Marshall. Her alters are like her trying to relate and be perfect for each of them.

I've liked Toni Collette since In Her Shoes and she was brilliant in Little Miss Sunshine. She portrays Tara and her alters beautifully and I don't think anyone else could pull off this role like Toni.

Showtime has been putting out series after series. Some are original like United States of Tara, Californication, Weeds; and some not-so-original like The Tudors. However, all of them are cast perfectly and quality programs.

Visit Tara's Website for more info.

Jan. 31 Video of the Week

Have you ever wondered what would happen if McFly had a knife in Back to the future? It was a good read. The guy knows how to write a masterpiece.

Gabby moves to Beaufort, NC to be near her boyfriend, Kevin. Soon, she realizes her dog, Molly, is most likely pregnant. Gabby thinks her neighbor's dog is to blame and, one night, she decides to confront the neighbor.

Travis is a single man living next door to Gabby. He and his dog, Moby, enjoy the weekends with Travis's friends and family, relaxing to loud music, and cruising around the lake.

Gabby "talks" to Travis, and through other choice meetings, they become friends. One thing leads to another, and Gabby has to make The Choice.

Sparks keeps you guessing throughout the book. The beginning is slightly slow to move, but as it with most of his books. He combines the scenery of North Carolina with a love story that we all envy. Alas, it is only a book.

It gets 4 1/2 stars from me. He and his attorneys agreed to a first-degree murder guilty plea, and the prosecutors dropped the attempted murder on his father and other charges. He wasn't abused by his parents, apparently.

Maybe he should go to a psychiatric facility. But some prison time would do him some good. He took a human life. Over bad grades. It's good to see Australia still lives in the 70's. Serena and Venus Williams were playing doubles at the time.

Earlier a near riot broke out between Serbian and Bosnian fans. I did, at one point, watch the show semi-religiously, but since it is a complete joke, I'd rather not watch. But I came across an article about AI fans wanting a hopeful disqualified.
Joanna Pacitti auditioned for the show in Louisville, Kentucky and blew away the judges. Joanna has voiced songs on a few soundtracks, had a contract with Geffen, and even had Britney Spears cover one of her songs. But does that make her unqualified for American Idol? Is that too much experience?

American Idol is in fact...a "reality" show. I don't think it is unfair to have some experience. And she is not the first to have been on American Idol with a "failed record contract". Many contestants have, so I think she should go on. If "America" thinks she shouldn't be on..then they can vote her off. Honestly, I don't think "America" should have all the vote. Hello..Fantasia and Taylor Hicks have won that stupid show. Taylor Hicks no longer has a contract.

I'm the King of Cellulite. There is no magic pill! None of the "diet" pills can substitute that of a diet and exercise plan. I'm so shocked by this, I about had a heart attack. Oh, that could be because I ate White Castle. I apologize.

If you want to lose weight, then you have to change your eating habits and exercise. Well, that or the knife. But even then, if you lipo or gastro bypass...it still won't solve everything. If you don't do the work, then you're not going to succeed. It sucks ass not being one of the few that can discipline themselves to eat healthy, and especially not being one that can eat the fattest food and not gain a pound. Another new term to learn from the youth: the teenage girls sent nude pictures through their cell phones to 3 teenage boys. The girls were 14 and 15, while the boys were 16 and 17.

What the fuck?

School officials first seized a cell phone from one of the student while they were using it during school hours. So, you're stupid enough to use your phone during school hours. Or at least stupid enough to get caught. The pictures were found on that phone, and after the police investigated, found the other 5.

I remember how high school is. But seriously? This is disrespectful of both the girls and the guys.

I don't think children under 18 should have a cell phone. I know there are reasons disagreeing with that, but this is what happens when you give your child their own phone. They either use massive amount of minutes, use the camera/camcorder to do something illegal..or worse. Giving them a phone for an emergency isn't sufficient enough. Children don't exactly know what an emergency entails.

And now you have 6 teenagers charged with child pornography.

Cheating really ain't a Crime

In a Washington court rules that teachers can have sex with an 18 year old student. The state law only bars teacher having sexual contact with students 16 or 17. That is a technicality that should not be changed. You are their teacher; they learn from you. having sex with them is just wrong and perverted. Just because they are "of-age" does not make it right.

Also, doctors are looking into the idea that humans can tell their partner is sexually aroused by the scent of their sweat. If you just wanna hear a great beat to dance to..Ross is your guy. Ross is a producer-songwriter and DJ, making such songs as "Loves It", "Say Goodbye" with Chelsea Lee, "Mercury Haze", and my personal favorite: "Friday Night". Now mostly based in Orlando, Florida, Ross has played for Barack Obama and opened for such DJs and Paul van Dyk and BT. On Friday, he picked the boy up {his first time visiting with him}, then told police the boy was kidnapped while he was taking care of him.

Later on, he confessed to police and told them where the boy's body was.

This is sick, surprising, no, but I am utterly disgusted. I'm at a loss for words at how this thought could enter someone's mind. Thinking too hard can make you fatter.

Canadian researchers studied students in 3 different ways: while sitting, reading, and doing computer tests. After each activity, the students were taken to a buffet. Turns out you eat more after you've been thinking.

That could explain alot to me. I do tend to think too much. Maybe that is why rednecks aren't fat? Ooo I went there!

The study was pretty useless because your brain uses glucose to fuel itself, so if you been using your brain by thinking, you're using glucose right? Well if you've used glucose then you have to eat to get the glucose balance level again. I only have a high school degree and I figured that out.

If you need any more information, visit Telegraph.co.uk.

You're as Cold as Ice

Surprise, surprise! 2009 has started with a bang, and almost literally. It means alot to me so thank you so very much. and Fuck You :D

2008 is ending tonight and it's been a year of ups and downs for me as it has for everyone. I think the big highlight of the year was getting the job that I have kept since March 22. As much heartache as it has caused me {and more}, it has been steady income for me. And through this job, I have met so many great people, and refueled my knowledge in the idiocy of people.

This is the year of my first stitches. The outside scar that will always reminds me of that day in July when I stupidly cut myself while emptying trash.

2008 was also the first election I was able to vote in, and seeing as it was a presidential election, it made it even more special. I feel like because of this, I became more political, and at least a little more knowledgeable about the world and the political world.

I started this blog this year and in its on way, made me more intelligible about politics and the entertainment business. I hope 2009 brings more for me.

Which brings me to some resolutions for 2009. I've never really set aside resolutions and tried to work on them, but maybe this year can change that. I want to start:

Writing more in my blogs

Work more on the relationships and friendships I have

Get my driver's license

Be more frugal

Lose weight

Work harder for school/career in web design

I hope everyone has a wonderful night, please be smart, if you do drink, drink responsibly and don't drive. He also hopes that the musical could open simultaneously in 3 cities: NY, London, and an Asian city. The setting for the sequel will be moved to NY's Coney Island and 10 years after the original. I fell in love with the 2004 film version and unfortunately I never got to see it in theatre, but I'm excited for this and I hope I get to see it. Little nervous since it's been 23 years since he remade the original.

There's going to be an 8th Police Academy movie! Honestly, the last 3 weren't very good, but I'm hopeful for this one. Everyone {reportedly} will return except for Tackleberry and Feldman, who was in the 4th movie. Producers are even trying to get Kim Cattrall and Sharon Stone back. Now those 2 I can live without, but why not make another Police Academy? Hollywood ain't coming up with anything else halfway original anyway.

A 3rd Meet the Parents movie is in the works. 'Little Fockers' will hopefully have everyone from the first 2 movies. Meet the Fockers wasn't a horribly bad movie, but it wasn't great. Maybe the 3rd movie will round out the series on a good note? It could be good.

Also, casting is in the works for the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Russell Brand may star as Johnny's Depp brother. Why does Disney feel the need to keep making sequels to movies? They're ruining the greatness of the original. I thought 'At World's End' was a great ending for the series. It wrapped up everything from the first 2, so what is the 4th movie going to accomplish? Please, don't make this movie!

Break Another Little Bit of My Heart

I am not here to judge everyone. Some people just want the day to be over with so stores don't look so Christmas-y. Christmas is a weird time for me. I love it and it means alot to me, but growing up, it wasn't the same for me as it was for other children.

My parents decided the year after I was born to stop putting up the tree and everything else that goes with modern Christmas traditions. I didn't grow up believing in Santa, I didn't wish anything for Christmas, I even remember receiving items from IGA for Christmas. I grew up knowing what Christmas was about. I knew about Baby Jesus and the Manger and Mary and The Three Wise men. But I am not writing this to be religious.

Christmas is the day to celebrate giving and family. It's a special time of year when 95% of the US is closed just to focus on something other than politics, war, all the turmoil around us.

I posted a few of my favorite Christmas songs. {stealing from a friend, love you Justin} What are your favorite Christmas songs? What movies do you regularly watch around this time, even if it not a Christmas-y movie? {I watch Sound of Music every Christmas night} And what did you get for Christmas? I'm gonna stop saying that word now

I Say Merry Christmas

1 day until Christmas, and I read a story like this. It seems to come up every year around this time: people fired for saying Merry Christmas. I will try not to offend anybody, but if you are, oh well.

A former employee of a Christian-run company claims to have been fired for saying Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays. Frankly, if any of my 15 bosses even tried yelling at me about that, I would be done with them. Now I don't necessarily say Merry Christmas to everyone, but I will not say Happy Holidays. Nope. Can't do. Sorry, but that IS against my religion and I am standing with this woman 100%.

Also, the store manager where I work {which I won't say} says Merry Christmas.

If you are offended by Merry Christmas, why? I wouldn't be offended if someone said Happy Channukah or whatever holiday. I wouldn't. Simple as that, the holiday or religion is not being shoved down your throat by those words.

What a Wicked Thing

This is one of the strangest things that I have ever heard. But then, maybe it isn't. A study done in England found that for some people, thinking about sex can lead to sneezing.

I would think that thinking about sex would lead to something else, but that's just me. I mean, really..sneezing? Wow. Good work, Dr, good job. I guess there's worse things than that? Why don't you study what happens when people have sex. Oh, that's already been done, sorry. Just trying to think outside of the box for you.

Also, it says that this could be genetic. So if you see your parent sneezing too much, that means they're probably thinking about sex. What a dirty game to play. I know I could catch my dad in that one.

This seems pretty odd, but the Doc has some scientific explanations and since I am no expert, read more at Fox News.

I would love to get a government grant just to look at random things and connect them somehow. One word can sum up politics, and this year especially: corrupt. I do not normally like to talk about politics, but these days, what else is there to talk about?

Between people losing their jobs, homes, identities, everything, the richer are getting richer and politicians are still playing their stupid ass games. Most of them are corrupt and only care about themselves. And whenever something even remotely corrupting/suspicious turns up, it doesn't phase the politicians. They barely even get questioned about it! Get away with murder and keep their jobs. It is sick.

{That's enough of that for me for a long time. Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII, Natalie Dormer as Queen Anne, Peter O'Toole as Pope Paul III, Henry Cavill as Charles Brandon, and the rest of the cast are phenomenal.

Another Showtime show that I love is Weeds. I was incredibly ecstatic to learn yesterday that season 4 premieres on June 16th, which happens to be my birthday. From Wikipedia: "The plot of season 4 revolves around Nancy relocating her family (and her drug business) from her burned down Agrestic neighborhood to the beach town of Ren Mar on the San Diego/Mexico border." This is another show where the cast is fantastic; how could you not love Kevin Nealon!?

Another Showtime show premiering on my birthday, is Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The title leaves no mystery to what the show is about. From Sho.com: "To her friends and family she is Hannah, a legal secretary clocking in regular hours and enjoying a "normal" life. To her clients, she is Belle, the answer to every man's fantasies. Secret Diary of a Call Girl premieres Monday, June 16." Looks like it will be a good show, at least one I will watch for a few episodes, and hopefully reel me in.

I Am Lost and I Can't Even Say Why

I can't EVER find anything to write about anymore. It is sad really and I refuse to give any more publicity to stupid tabloid stories. {Yeah, you know EXACTLY what I am talking about.} So when I was looking through Hollyscoop today, it looked hopeless to find something that didn't involve the recent stories that are rocking all of the magazines. I never give up, however, and my ladies rarely disappoint me, and I found a story about Anchorman 2.

Yes, Adam McKay, director of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and Will Ferrell are seriously considering making a sequel. More like they will do one eventually. Now I loved Anchorman. It was fairly stupid, but it was funny as hell. However, I find it relenting how Hollywood always wants to make sequels. And about 98% of the sequels are AWFUL. So, I'm apprehensive to see Anchorman 2. I hope it is as great as the first one, and they prove everyone wrong.

In other sad, Will Ferrell movie sequels, Old School 2 is still being scripted. John was going for his 1,000 round win. Ashley made a flawless run, while John smoked his tires early.

Visit NHRA Drag Racing official website for more info and video.

I Don't Wanna Die For You

Before the Army band began playing hymns, before the VIPs took their seats, before the crowd that waited for hours began to filter into the ballpark, there was only a lonesome flag-draped casket on a platform, with two soldiers standing guard at each end.For a few minutes, the nearly empty stadium became as quiet as a church. A young woman in black was slowly escorted to the front of the platform by a soldier in dress uniform. He stood back as she approached Staff Sgt. Matt Maupin’s coffin. She put her face in her hands and wept.

For all of us.

There were stirring words of inspiration, followed by aching sadness that puts a lump in your throat and keeps it there -- such as the WWII airplanes that flew by in the missing-man formation, then rejoined to symbolize Matt’s final homecoming.

There was a celebration of his life, in his family’s words and in snapshots on the big screen: Matt as a baby in a sleeper decorated with a rocket ship; playing in piles of leaves; wearing a bath-towel Superman cape; with a new bike, with Santa, beloved dogs, in a football uniform, at the prom, graduation, Army uniform, in a Humvee in Iraq. And then the picture we know too well. The one taken by his terrorist captors after his convoy was ambushed near Baghdad in 2004: he stares at the camera in his floppy camo hat, trying not to show fear in the midst of evil.

There was also an emotional tribute to Matt’s family. The crowd stood to applaud Keith and Carolyn Maupin, who have endured crushing fear for four long years, showing the world only grace and dignity. The Maupins turned their devastating loss into love, by doing for all soldiers what they longed to do for their missing son. They shipped care packages to thousands of troops.

If there are places in America where patriotism is not fashionable, this was not one of them. Not at the funeral. And not along roads hedged by an unbroken chain of yellow ribbons and flag-waving supporters.

If there’s another nation that has ever sacrificed such a precious resource in such a selfless cause, I don’t know of it.

There may be places in America where “God” is the only word that can’t be uttered in public. But Matt Maupin’s service was not that place, either. Matt’s Christian faith, and the way that faith has sustained his family, was as unmistakable as the flag-draped casket at the center of it all.

“Look at all the lives that have been touched through one man’s hardship,” Matt’s brother Micah, a Marine, wrote in a letter read at the service. “This is the big picture of what God had in store for you.”

I think Matt came to symbolize way the human spirit can overcome evil. Love found a way home.

“Death does not have the last word today,” said Chaplain Dale Ellens in a closing prayer. “Life does.”
Words can’t describe the power and meaning of Matt Maupin’s final, slow salute. But those words come pretty close.

I never knew Matt. But that doesn't matter in any way. His story, his life, touched everyone. It gives this song by Toby Keith a whole new meaning. It gives this war a different meaning. And the fact that just 1 soldier, out of the many serving our country everyday, has moved so many people..that is amazing. Part of me wished that I was there today. {I was at work, actually}

Every time I think about this war, and the soldiers, my heart skips a beat and I remember the people that I have known, even very briefly, who are in Iraq and Afghanistan, and even the ones lucky enough to be elsewhere serving out country. Especially my very good friend in Japan. I really do not know what I would do if he went to Iraq. I think of him as a brother, I wish we were that close, but I have known him since I remember practically.

This is Matt's day. It is a day to remember the troops, to mourn for the fallen, and to remember the real life heroes who are fighting, who have fought, for our freedom. It does not matter how you feel about this war.

For all those uninformed of Matt Maupin's story, visit his official website for everything you need to know.

But It Wasn't a Rock..

Ravenstake.com features many videos directed and starring 2 great friends of mine, The Fine Brothers. When I say semi excited, it is not that I don't like Jimmy Fallon. It is mostly cause I don't think he'll be better than Conan, but I know he'll be better than Carson. {I mean, seriously, I could be better than manorexic.}

I am excited, however, that I'll be able to watch 2 hours of late night TV on NBC. I have never liked Leno. I find him very annoying and not that funny. I like Letterman alot, but then I can not stand whatever his band leader's name is. I like Max Weinberg, mostly because I feel Conan and the Max Weinberg 7 banter well together. I have barely ever watched Ferguson, so that is all I will say about him.

I am not 100% sure about this decision to put in Jimmy Fallon, but I will support it and try to watch the show when he premieres.

But I'm Sorry, I Don't Pray That Way

My mind's completely a blur right now and honestly, I have no idea what's going on. Except for the redneck part. It is purely a network of friends supporting not only them, but others. Most notably is The Roll Family, who run the blog. They're hilarious, and I can never get enough of them. They run their own show, oddly titled Redneck Radio News as well, and it is never short of crazy. Not to be left out, DogHouse with Baddog is the disowned brother of the Rolls, who also blogs daily. Baddog also supplies crazy news stories, youtube videos, and anything else that should never be spoken or shown to any human.

I'm sure some people are saying "wait just a minute! you're forgetting Brokenpole?!". Yeah, well, that paragraph was long. Brokenpole runs his own show, blog, and co-hosts. His show is Wake Up Call, with his wife, Smokinbeaver. Prepare for questions you wouldn't hear anywhere else from these 2 crazy people in love who will push the limits.

It's Alright..To Be Me

{I love free music from Itunes.}

I just read on Yahoo News that the A-Team movie is going to be released in June 12, 2009. Part of me is excited cause I loved A-Team growing up {still do}. And the other part of me, oddly larger, does not want to see this cast and anything that Hollywood would remake of the A-Team. The only cast that is rumored is Woody Harrelson as 'Howling Mad' Murdock, aka the crazy pilot, and Ice Cube as B.A. Baracus, who everyone knows was played by the one and only Mr.T. Frankly, I'm frightened by this. Fortunately, there are no more rumored cast, and at the moment, I do not want to know.

Moving on with other horrible remakes/sequels, last night I finished up watching Revenge of the Nerds III.
