I have to say..this show is fucked up. But I love it. I just got done watching the 3rd episode, and I'm hooked. I love Tara, T, Alice, Buck, Max, Kate, and Marshall. It's unique, it's interesting, and it's well-scripted. I like how the alters go with the rest of the relationships Tara has. Like Buck is for Max, T is for Kate, and Alice is for Marshall. Her alters are like her trying to relate and be perfect for each of them.
I've liked Toni Collette since In Her Shoes and she was brilliant in Little Miss Sunshine. She portrays Tara and her alters beautifully and I don't think anyone else could pull off this role like Toni.
Showtime has been putting out series after series. Some are original like United States of Tara, Californication, Weeds; and some not-so-original like The Tudors. However, all of them are cast perfectly and quality programs.
Have you ever wondered what would happen if McFly had a knife in Back to the future? What about if Lorainne had a unibrow and a hair chest? I think this answers your questions..
Tom Selleck It's crazy that Magnum is 64. Insane. I still watch Magnum, P.I. on a semi-monthly basis. My brain can't take too much mustache.
I am not very happy that Matthew McConaghuey is going to play Magnum in a possible remake..but then again, who could possibly replace Tom Selleck? I hope that the movie is not made, because it won't be made the same..Hollywood will completely fuck it up.
Last night I finished The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. It was a good read. The guy knows how to write a masterpiece.
Gabby moves to Beaufort, NC to be near her boyfriend, Kevin. Soon, she realizes her dog, Molly, is most likely pregnant. Gabby thinks her neighbor's dog is to blame and, one night, she decides to confront the neighbor.
Travis is a single man living next door to Gabby. He and his dog, Moby, enjoy the weekends with Travis's friends and family, relaxing to loud music, and cruising around the lake.
Gabby "talks" to Travis, and through other choice meetings, they become friends. One thing leads to another, and Gabby has to make The Choice.
Sparks keeps you guessing throughout the book. The beginning is slightly slow to move, but as it with most of his books. He combines the scenery of North Carolina with a love story that we all envy. Alas, it is only a book.
It gets 4 1/2 stars from me. I couldn't put it down.
How long did it take the TV companies/stations to prepare for this digital switch? Probably longer than your fat asses have been sitting in that chair. So why are you delaying them anymore? Give people their fucking coupons, let them use expired coupons..something. This is completely ridiculous. And I know that delaying it until June, that the same thing is going to happen. People are still going to bitch about not being ready. That is their problem. We've heard about this switch for years.
This week's artist is one that I found out about months ago. Her voice just captivated me. She is one of the few holders of the 'Singles of the Week' from Itunes that I've liked and never getting tired.
Kerli is an Estonian bombshell who sings alternative rock. She has voiced the theme to the 'Quantom of Solace' videogame and is featured on 'The Punisher: War Zone' soundtrack. Her dubut album, Love is Dead, was released in July 2008 and was used for promoting the Fox show 'Fringe'. Singles from the album include: 'Love is Dead', 'She's in Parties', and my favorite 'Walking in Air'.
Usually whenever my parents saw I had bad grades, we'd have a little argument. It never turned physical..and why should it?
Lewin C. Powell IIIadmitted in court he killed his mother over his grades. He beat his mother to death with a baseball bat and beat his father enough to fracture his skull twice. His father survived. Powell is 16. He and his attorneys agreed to a first-degree murder guilty plea, and the prosecutors dropped the attempted murder on his father and other charges. According to his attorneys, Powell has had lifetime problems and should spend his life sentence at a maximum-security psychiatric facility. All because "he just snapped that day." He wasn't abused by his parents, apparently.
Maybe he should go to a psychiatric facility. But some prison time would do him some good. He took a human life. Over bad grades. And brutally attacked his father. Over bad grades. Is that what society is raising our youth to do?
Robotic mall cop? What will the Japanese think of next?
I really just wanted to show that pic, it's just fucked up really. But if you'd like to learn more: Daily Telegraph.
I've heard some pretty stupid reasons for killing someone..but because they changed their relationship status on Facebook? Now that is insane. A man in Britain attacked his estranged wife because she changed her status to 'single'. He recently pleaded guilty. Fox News.
You know it's a good day in sports when there is chair-throwing, riots, and a streaker!
At the Australian Open, a man ran onto the court, wearing only a shirt, danced quickly and made an exit. It's good to see Australia still lives in the 70's. Serena and Venus Williams were playing doubles at the time.
Earlier a near riot broke out between Serbian and Bosnian fans. They seem to fight everywhere. Serbia's Novak Djokovic, defeated Bosnian-born American Amer Delic.
Then two men were arrested for their roles in a chair-throwing match. Johnny Mac would be so proud! Almost 30 people have been ejected from Melbourne Park yet.
Now I am not an American Idol fan. I did, at one point, watch the show semi-religiously, but since it is a complete joke, I'd rather not watch. But I came across an article about AI fans wanting a hopeful disqualified. Joanna Pacitti auditioned for the show in Louisville, Kentucky and blew away the judges. Joanna has voiced songs on a few soundtracks, had a contract with Geffen, and even had Britney Spears cover one of her songs. But does that make her unqualified for American Idol? Is that too much experience?
American Idol is in fact...a "reality" show. I don't think it is unfair to have some experience. And she is not the first to have been on American Idol with a "failed record contract". Many contestants have, so I think she should go on. If "America" thinks she shouldn't be on..then they can vote her off. Honestly, I don't think "America" should have all the vote. Hello..Fantasia and Taylor Hicks have won that stupid show. Taylor Hicks no longer has a contract.
Hey guess what! There is no magic pill! None of the "diet" pills can substitute that of a diet and exercise plan. I'm so shocked by this, I about had a heart attack. Oh, that could be because I ate White Castle. I apologize.
If you want to lose weight, then you have to change your eating habits and exercise. Well, that or the knife. But even then, if you lipo or gastro bypass...it still won't solve everything. If you don't do the work, then you're not going to succeed. It sucks ass not being one of the few that can discipline themselves to eat healthy, and especially not being one that can eat the fattest food and not gain a pound. I know, I've wanted to punch those myself.
Plus, some of those pills and methods can kill you. So just be smart and do the work. Or be fat. Whatever works for you. For more info on these findings: Fox News.
I just started reading The Choice by Nicholas Sparks today and so far it is good. Like all his books.
The Senate voted Hillary in. 94-2. Not surprising. She's right for the job. Meanwhile, Caroline Kennedy ended her bid for Hillary's seat in the Senate. Think it had to do with ole Teddy? I bet. And if Timothy Geithner gets voted in..I'm not going to pay my taxes either. I mean seriously..if you don't pay your taxes when they should be, then all of a sudden pay them before you get nominated for Treasury Sec., that's fucked up. How could you swear in a guy like that. I don't care if we need the Treasury Sec., do NOT vote for a guy that forgot to pay his taxes. That's like swearing in Osama for Homeland Security.
I honestly can not stand seeing anymore about little Caylee Anthony. It sickens me and the more I see that face I wanna smack the shit out of her mother.
I'm not really watching this inauguration. I really don't care, I never watched any of the others so it's not like this is different. I did, however, see my uncle and my aunt introduced into the inauguration and that was cool for me.
I'm avoiding Fox News today cause there's nothing there but this event, and honestly, I just don't want to read it. I don't want to see it. Oh well.
My papa gave me an article about mistreatment of our military. Mistreating them by firing them when they were called to duty. Mistreating them by not giving them another job, which they must do BY LAW. Or giving them a job much lower than the previous position. Frankly, that is anti-American. It sickens me that a person can go fight for our freedom, lay their life for us and our country..and lose their job in the process.
To read my papa's blog about this mistreatment, the article, or Obama, visit Morning Rant. You won't be disappointed.
I thought about this artist of the week and I think this is the right person for the title. I love her, her music makes me bounce around with happiness and even though she's not such an unknown, she's not huge in the U.S.
Elena Paparizou or as some people known her as Helena Paparizou is a Pop singer well-known all over Europe. She is a Greek-Swede, meaning she was born in Sweden by 2 Greek immigrants. She mainly sings in Greek, and now English. Some of her most popular songs are "My Number One", "Mambo", "Gigolo", "Treli Kardia" and my personal favorite "The Game of Love". In fact, "My Number One" won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005. Elena has recorded 5 albums and is currently in the works for her 3rd English-speaking album due in 2009.
Her official Myspace showcases her Greek songs, while her Youtube has all her music videos, Greek and English.
So it looks as though the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be facing each other in the Super Bowl. I am happy to see the Cardinals in the big game since Kurt Warner is a great guy, but the Steelers...well I was born in Cincinnati so that is all I have to say. Ravens, you tried to come back and beat the Steelers, but it was not enough. I still do not like the Ravens.
I gotta shout-out my friend, who just started posting on her Unperfectly Perfect Blog. It is an advice blog, where Cat talks about really anything. From relationships, life, babies, abuse, to her latest blog about torture methods.
I apologize that I haven't blogged much as of late. There is alot of things going on at my work and most of it is stressing me out so I also apologize if I don't blog very often.
A study done in Dayton, Ohio found that more young adults are taking prescription sleeps aids than ever. Insomnia is something that was always generally thought of for older adults, but the use of sleep aids has risen among adult 45 and younger. But especially bad is the rise of 18-24. "Use in this age group rose to 1,524 users per 100,000 in 2006, up from 599 users per 100,000 in 1998." That is disturbing. When you are so young, we should be able to sleep normally with no problems. I have tried Simply Sleep, Tylenol PM, and Excedrin PM to get to sleep easier and none of them have really worked for me. I still wake up 10 times a night. Check out more at Fox News.
I very rarely review movies, cause simply: I never go to the theatre, so why review something that is 2 years old? But last night, I watched Pineapple Express. I saw the trailer for the movie and I knew I had to see it. {Thanx Myspace} I promise, no spoilers.
I laughed, there was alot of funny parts. Seth Rogen is always funny to me and James Franco was excellent. I could have done without Danny McBride, he was just not that comical or believable as a drug supplier. Gary Cole is the definitive bad guy..but Rosie Perez as a corrupt cop was too much.
All and all, I give it a 4 1/2 out of 5. It was worth the $20, and I will watch it again.
Have you been seeing dead people lately? No I don't mean Ralph Nader. But you could be drinking too much coffee. Or anything with too much caffeine in it. Researchers at the University of Durham suggest that too much caffeine intake can lead to hallucinations. So if you've been hearing voices and seeing things that are not there...maybe you should cut back on the caffeine.
In Pennsylvania, 3 teenage girls were charged with 'sexting'. Another new term to learn from the youth: the teenage girls sent nude pictures through their cell phones to 3 teenage boys. The girls were 14 and 15, while the boys were 16 and 17.
What the fuck?
School officials first seized a cell phone from one of the student while they were using it during school hours. So, you're stupid enough to use your phone during school hours. Or at least stupid enough to get caught. The pictures were found on that phone, and after the police investigated, found the other 5.
I remember how high school is. But seriously? This is disrespectful of both the girls and the guys.
I don't think children under 18 should have a cell phone. I know there are reasons disagreeing with that, but this is what happens when you give your child their own phone. They either use massive amount of minutes, use the camera/camcorder to do something illegal..or worse. Giving them a phone for an emergency isn't sufficient enough. Children don't exactly know what an emergency entails.
And now you have 6 teenagers charged with child pornography.
